I am pleased to announce that I am running for reelection to PUSD school board in District 1.  As a former PUSD teacher of over 25 years I bring a unique perspective of the challenges of being in the classroom. 

As a current trustee, and current School Board President, I have the experience and knowledge of how our school district works and the ongoing work that still needs to get done.  I have a proven track record of successfully opening schools during covid, helping pass school bond measure I, and supporting construction of new school facilities.

I am also very committed to repairing relationships.  After the near strike with our teachers, I visited our schools to listen to concerns.  I have discovered many underlying issues and am committed to tackling these issues head on.  It is truly important to foster solid relationships with teachers, staff, students and community members.  

There is still more work to be done.  We need to gather community input and then hire our next superintendent, we need to make difficult decisions with budget reductions, and we need to work together to ensure equity in our schools.  I am committed to this work and to ensuring that every child receives a world-class education. I believe that as a board we make the right decisions when we put children at the forefront of all of our decision making.   With your support, I’ll work tirelessly to strengthen our schools.  By working together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
